We each have stories of trouble, disappointment, and heartache.  Those stories are often perpetrated by others (our nemesis) and make our lives far more interesting and painful than we ever imagined.

It helps to think of our lives as unfolding in the chapters of our life story.  It doesn’t matter our age.  The question for us to consider is does our nemesis play his/her role throughout our entire story?  Or do they simply get a chapter – or merely a mention – in a rich and insightful tale?  How do we choose to let these challenges shape us?  Define us?  Write our story?  Or do we define and write our own story?

You must never forget…you own your story.  It belongs to you and no one else.  This means you are also responsible for writing your own ending.  You get to bring all of life’s lessons – thus far – and a heart full of wisdom and compassion to the life you choose to create.

Where you’ve been is gone.  The road lies ahead of you and waiting. What is your personal narrative?  What do you want people to know about you?  This is your chance to blend your now and a lifetime of learning.  What do you want to start anew?  Where do you want your story to end?

You choose.

  1. I cannot think of any Nemesis that affected my life story in any significant way. I am responsible for the ups and downs in my life story. Certainly positive people have come in and out of my life in the past 60 years and affected my story incredibly. I think you are right; where we have been, should not be the focus. Where we are right now and where we are going is the most important thing in our lives.
